There's an ANP <136> at r4c12

If the ANP is true the 36 pair means r4c7 = 9, r5c9 = 6, r8c9 = 1 and r9c8 <> 1

OR

If the ANP is false then r2c1 = 9, r2c8 = 1 and r9c8 < > 1

Hi Earl

Are you happy with your finned X-wing in c2 & c3 ?

I think I see where you are coming from but doesn't the 1 in r6c3 make things a little awkward ?

Another even more direct route (possibly in the style of Tom) is if r3c5 = 2 then no 7's in box 2.

if you make r3c5 = 2 then r8c5 = 7 so r9c6 = 5 and r7c5 = 2 and back to the start r3c5 < > 2

R3c5 < > 2

For those that speak Eureka:

(2-7)r3c5=r8c5-(7=5)r9c6-(5=2)r7c5-(2=7)r3c5

There's a rare (in my experience anyway) extended Unique Rectangle (2 x 3) at
r369c45 [25-56-26]. Essentially, to break the deadly pattern r9c5 has to be 4 so eliminating <26>.

That’s right - similar to Gianni’s AIC in that the puzzle solved whatever value you put in the pivot

….if you insist r6c4 = 4 then r4c4 < > 4.
It also means there’s a 9 in r4c9. So r4c4 < > 9
That 9 created a <26> pair in box 5 and r4c4 < > 2

R4c4 is empty …….. Is that ec ...

Extend it one further still and we get r6c4 < > 4 because if it was then another 4 gets put into r4c4 - two 4’s in box 5. Contradiction.

Well since 9's are the focus, I will look elsewhere to a nice XY chain.

Pincers for 4 at r4c2 and r5c8 means r5c12 < > 4. Follow a-d. Or d-a if you prefer.

Can this triple keep from rushing to be four ?
It's just impossible
If I had three could I ever want for more?
It's just impossible
