Same here. I finished the puzzle with only basic eliminations, and I'm wondering if I made some kind of mistake (which happened to lead to a solution). |

| I cannot find any way to solve the Jul 26 Hard puzzle without using advanced (VH) techniques. Basic elimination gets me to here:

look at row 7. The fives in row 7 must be in box 9. That'll help you get going again. (BTW, the x-wing (5) cols 2 and 5 provides exactly the same eliminations) Thanks, I must be asle ... |
