Hi Very Happy

My first post and I would like to ask has anyone tried KenKen?

My first thoughts is that it is great. I tried it in The Times paper today.

They have some examples on their website.

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/games_and_puzzles/article3599073.ece

and you can check out this article on KenKen below

Thanks

Yes, and I love them! They are in the daily Detroit Free Press.

It certainly helps to understand some Sudoku concepts like X-wings.

But, like Kakuro, they get fairly easy. I now do them easily without pencil marks. Sudoku, on the other hand, can be infinitely difficult and challenging.

There is also now a Google Gadget so you can play games from your Google Homepage.

If anyone is interested, there is more info at http://googlemodules.com/module/8622/

Keith, New York Times newspaper has 2 Kenken's a day. Even on Sundays.

As I indicated, NYT kenkens R also on-line.

OK. I've been staring at this one for a couple of days. It is from the Detroit Free Press 9/4/09.

Eventually, I succumbed, and started using pencil marks and Sudoku logic.

Now, I have convinced myself this thing has two solutions!

Any advice?

My 14-year old son found my error. I had an incorrect pencil mark. However, this is still a pretty good puzzle. Here is what I think is the crucial step:

Keith -

If you run into a stumper like this again, you might try http://interisland.net/johngilbrough/SquareMath. Load in the puzzle via Compose and then solve it with the advanced player.
