If'n y'all ask for degree of difficulty = 1 (where, say, only two cells are blank), then the solution is unique.

If'n y'all ask for degree of difficulty = 9 (where, say, only two cells are given), then there'll be a jillion solutions.

Where, between 1 and 9, it changes ... I dunno Very Happy

The frustrating part of solving sudokus is:
[1] Going patiently thru' the blank cells.
[2] Seeing which numbers, 1 to 9, do not match any in the same row/column/square.
[3] Taking note of the numbers identified in step [2].
[4] Start making intelligent guesses, armed with the above information.

Steps [1]-[3] can be done by a six-year-old.(i.e. They ain't very challenging.)

Step [4] is where the fun begins.

There's a spreadsheet described here** which does [1]-[3] Very Happy
You just enter the given numbers (from the dailysudoku, for example) and click a few buttons.

** The spreadsheet is at the bottom.
