The March 14 DB dies with a single bullet, a <7> skyscraper.

A simple one step is what I would list.

There are lots of others, this puzzle is very easy.

xy-wing, ER, another skyscraper.

Two-string kites, sashimi x-wing, sashimi sword.

The puzzle is a puzzle, what did you want Earl to say?

Shiela,

Skyscrapers are very useful and relatively easy to master. Just find parallel strong pairs (e.g. 3's) of unequal length that share a base. Like an x-wing too short on one side. Any <3> that "sees" both of the unequal ends can be eliminated. Sudopedia will explain in detail.
Hope this helps.

Earl

I used an XY-wing 23-5 and an X-wing 7.

interesting notation Keith.
I have noticed a couple times now.
nice way to show that 5 is the pincer candidate and that {23} is the pivot cell candidates

Norm,

Thank you again!

Yes, the notation is exactly that. XYZ are the candidates, put a "-" in front of the pincer candidate.

The same is true of an XYZ-wing.

I think it is concise and compact, and should be obvious in most puzzles. Better than R7C6 ..., and certainly better than the notation needed for longer chains.
