Hi Everybody,
My husband and I can't solve this puzzle without guessing.

- - 4 3 - - - 9 -
- - 6 - - - - 2 -
- - - - 7 - 8 1 -

- 9 - - 8 4 - 6 -
- - - 7 - 9 - - -
- 7 - 1 3 - - 4 -

- 1 8 - 9 - - - -
- 2 - - - - 3 - -
- 6 - - - 3 9 - -

We have got this far
- 8 4 3 - - - 9 5
- 5 6 9 - 8 - 2 3
- 3 - - 7 5 8 1 -
- 9 3 - 8 4 1 6 7
6 4 1 7 - 9 - 3 8
8 7 - 1 3 6 - 4 9
3 1 8 - 9 - - - -
- 2 - - - - 3 - -
- 6 - - - 3 9 - -

Sorry, I don't know how to format this puzzle.

Maybe you are here:
Code:
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 17   8    4    | 3    126  12   | 67   9    5    |
| 17   5    6    | 9    14   8    | 47   2    3    |
| 29   3    29   | 46   7    5    | 8    1    46   |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 25   9    3    | 25   8    4    | 1    6    7    |
| 6    4    1    | 7    25   9    | 25   3    8    |
| 8    7    25   | 1    3    6    | 25   4    9    |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 3    1    8    | 2456 9    27   | 46   57   246  |
| 459  2    579  | 4568 1456 17   | 3    578  146  |
| 45   6    57   | 2458 1245 3    | 9    578  124  |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+

Look at the Help section of the site to learn how to format a puzzle:

This is not easy. A first step is a double W-wing 46 that takes out 46 in R6C4.

Actually, that turns out to solve the puzzle!

I think you mean r7c4. It can also be viewed as two simple coloring chains, one each on 4 and 6.

Marty,

Yes. R7C4. There is nothing special about this WW wing. It can also be seen as two skyscrapers in 4 and in 6 or, as you say, a couple of short coloring chains that both go through B23.

Hi Marty & Keith,

Thank you for your help, not only with the puzzle but on how to format one. I will have to look up the W wing. I had thought that it was the same as the WXYZ wing.

I am amazed that you were able to read my puzzle. It was such a mess. Embarassed You even got to exactly where we were in it.
I couldn't help but notice the 25s on boxes 4, 5, and 6. I was wondering if they meant anything.

Sheila,

Here is a link to a W-wing explanation:

It really is pretty cool.

I was not able to read the original puzzle, but I did get to read your post of the spot you were stuck.
