I see that this problem has been sitting around for a while! I finally got around to solving it today! I used the following 2-step solution:
After basics:
Code: |
+-------------------+-------------+---------------+
| 5 1268 1268 | 16 9 7 | 4 168 3 |
| 67 167 3 | 8 2 4 | 1679 169 5 |
| 4 9 1678 | 5 16 3 | 2 168 17 |
+-------------------+-------------+---------------+
| 1 235678 25678 | 36 3678 59 | 5789 259 4 |
| 6789 4 5678 | 2 678 1 | 5789 3 79 |
| 3789 23578 2578 | 4 378 59 | 15789 1259 6 |
+-------------------+-------------+---------------+
| 38 1358 4 | 9 13 6 | 15 7 2 |
| 2 1567 1567 | 17 4 8 | 3 1569 19 |
| 367 1367 9 | 137 5 2 | 16 4 8 |
+-------------------+-------------+---------------+
|
Step 1: 1r7c5=r3c5-r3c9=r8c9 => r7c7 != 1
After Step 1:
Code: |
+---------------+-----------+---------+
| 5 28 128 | 16 9 7 | 4 68 3 |
| 67 67 3 | 8 2 4 | 9 1 5 |
| 4 9 18 | 5 16 3 | 2 68 7 |
+---------------+-----------+---------+
| 1 2368 278 | 36 3678 9 | 78 5 4 |
| 68 4 5 | 2 678 1 | 78 3 9 |
| 9 38 78 | 4 378 5 | 1 2 6 |
+---------------+-----------+---------+
| 38 18 4 | 9 13 6 | 5 7 2 |
| 2 5 6 | 7 4 8 | 3 9 1 |
| 37 17 9 | 13 5 2 | 6 4 8 |
+---------------+-----------+---------+
|
Step 2: (6=3)r4c4-(3=1)r9c4-(1=7)r9c2-(7=6)r2c2 => r4c2 != 6 |

Thanks immp! With this recent pandemic I have a lot more free time on my hands. I still need to learn the fish solutions and skyscrapers and some other advanced techniques. I currently use X, XY, XYZ Wings or forcing chains, preferably with pincers on both ends which I learned a while ago from Marty and Clement! They also helped me get the hang of Eureka notation.
