Less, elegant, but:

145xyzwing@R8C7, -4R7C7; then:
458xywing@R7C2, -8R6C7

Early Earl

Hi everyone,

in one step:
AIC in r7c2
r7c2=4 and -4 in r8c1, r7c78
r7c2=5 r5c2=8 r5c7=1 r8c8=4 and -4 in r8c1, r7c78

or
XYZ-Wing 1,4,5 in r38c7,r8c8 and -4 in r7c7
and
XY-Wing 4,5,8 in r6c2,r7c27 and -8 in r6c7

Ciao Gianni

Looking at this again, you don't need the 145 XYZ wing first

if the pivot in r7c2=5 then r8c7=5, r3c7=4, r7c7=8
if the pivot in r7c2=4 then r6c2=8

Pincers of 8 remove the 8 from r6c7 and solve the puzzle

That’s right - similar to Gianni’s AIC in that the puzzle solved whatever value you put in the pivot
