Not from me. I obviously missed something, or a lot of things, since it took me six steps. So I erased it, did it again and it took me seven!!    |

				| Actually, I used the x-wing(s) on <1> and an ER on <4> before finding the <269> xy-wing. So I started again and just used the xy-wing - and found that was all that was needed.   Seven steps indeed!! |

My solution was exactly like that posted by Earl. The x-wing <1> to eliminate <1> in r6c34 which opens up the xy-wing <269> with pivot <27> at r6c7 and pincers <79> at r4c8 and <29> at r6c4 to solve the puzzle.
 
 
How did you eliminate the <1> in r6c4 or did you use a different xy-wing <269>?

Well - there wasn't a <1> there after I rubbed out the first attempt and did it again.  The rubber (or eraser to you guys) must have slipped. |

				I solved it the same way everyone else did but didn't count the # of steps!
 
I enjoyed today's puzzle more than other VHs recently because it didn't just fall apart like some do --  it took some methodical work. But not too much! |

I am puzzled with others saying that the xy wing was <269>. Can a <269> xy wing pivot on something with a 7 in it?
 
 
I am thinking that the xy-wing should be <279>. |

				I thought that it was a fun puzzle.  We solved it with one x-wing and the 269 xy-wing.  For my husband and I, these puzzles have been fun lately.  Good practice too with the xy-wings.  
 
 
There have been more VH puzzles than usual in the last week or so.   |

				| Aha! There is a 269 xy wing and a 279 xy wing. I never saw the 269 wing. Either solves the puzzle. |
